Humans are adults, or animals is a creature that has developed in all its potential. In the context of humans, the term adult has implications that are based on moral and social concepts. As opposed to a "non-adult" or "minor" an legal adult is a person who has reached the age of majority, and therefore is regarded as an independent, self-sufficient person and accountable. You can refer to them as a "major". The point at which a person turns an adult legally is 18, however, the definition of"legal maturity" can be different depending upon the nation or legal system in place, and also the psychological condition of the child.
